I swapped out my original 3-spoke sterring wheel in my 2001 330i for the M3 sterring wheel. After reconnecting my battery i noticed that my BC Controls, the one on the blinker lever no longer activate outside temp or fuel consumption, etc. Only the clock displays on the dash after i set the time. I checked for a blown fuse but not sure which to check but checked a few i thought it might be but those were good. If you are a BMW Tech, or anyone with BMW knowledge, please let me know any ideas you have. Much appreciation.
Thanks
Andy

First off, I just want to confirm that the steering wheel that you had previous to the M3 steering wheel had the same airbag. I've actually heard of people fitting M3 steering wheels to vehicles with the non-sport steering wheel which is a big no no.
The only thing that comes to mind is that one of the connectors beneith the airbag possibly wasn't connected. And on that thought, did you transfer the cruise control/audio button panel off of the stock steering wheel onto the M3 wheel?

Thanks for the reply, I am in fact using the correct Steering wheel. My 330i originaly came with a 3-spoke with round airbag. I just wanted to upgrade to the much nicer sportier looking m3 wheel. All the connectors that you mentioned are connected, checked twice. When I first installed the wheel I used my original multi-function panel because the two airbag connectors did not match the size exactly of mine, so i swapped out the buttons and the airbag harness with four connectors and ground. When I noticed that the BC controls were not working I was trying the set the outside temp with no luck so I reinstalled the wheel again using the multi-function panel it came with and harness with still no luck. I heard the other day from somebody that the BC controls are a totally separate wiring system and that the time of day can be set through the radio but I have not been able to figure that one out yet. My radio manual says refer to the owners manual and the owners manual says refer to the radio manual. Definitely no handshaking going on between owners manuals. Anyway, thanks again. if you think of anything else please let me know.
