2001 BMW 330i...
I was tinkering around under the hood and noticed a reservoir looking thing next to the oil filter housing. There seemed to be some leakage from it and it looks like oil. Just wondering what it is and what it does. I took a picture and will upload it so you know what I am talking about. I tightened down the cap and hopefully that will stop the leak.

The reservoir is on the right and has the crusty oil look to it.
