Has anyone removed and painted their brake calipers? If so, how easy was it and how did it look?

I've seen it, but I never thought it looked quite right. To do it right, you have the calipers removed, disassembled and painted professionally with a quality high-temp multi-layer paint.

The stock calipers are just too small and open to really benefit from paint.. IMHO of course...

I painted mine without removing them. I'm not entering my car in car shows. To tell the difference, you would literally have get down on your hands and knees with a flashlight. I used a small paintbrush and just worked carefully to keep from getting paint on the pads. I got the kit from the tire rack. I'm satisfied with it.

I painted mine. It was simple and inexpensive. I bought some red, high gloss Rustoleum (heat resistant) at Lowes, removed the wheels, cleaned the calipers with solvent, masked areas I didn't want to paint and sprayed two coats on each. The whole process took me less than an hour. That was two years ago and my calipers look like they were painted yesterday. Really cool. I get a lot of comments on them. They look much better than the rusty stock color.
