Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good online retailer for BMW OEM touch-up paint. I've called several part centers in the San Diego area for titanium silver but had no luck. Also, I recently scratched one of my rims and if someone had good suggestions for repairing the blemish.

thanks,

Have you tried CircleBMW.com? I got my touch-up paint there

I just tried to get some paint from my dealer and they explained that bmwusa was redoing the packaging for the paint... and they had no idea when the new-look packages will come out. Hopefully, this year :), but that's kindof annoying that they don't know. Maybe it's just my dealer that isn't on the ball. :( I think I'm going to try some others & see if they have any of the old-stock left.

Can't beat the touch-up pens at www.autovisuals.com

Match all the BMW stock colors and are great for rock chips, etc. :D

Thanks for the replies, all. I was looking at circlebmw and they wanted serial number, I'm assuming this is the VIN? I don't really feel comfortable giving out that info. BTW, you guys think it'd be ok to use the touch up paint on scrached rims....it is kinda silver like the color of the car...?

Call a local dealer, ask for paint code 354 and go from there. That is titanium silver...

Technically, they are not supposed to ship them since it is a ORM-D controlled hazardous substance, so local is much easier on them...

My dealer asked for the paint code or the last few digits of the VIN (2 alpha + remaining serial) so they could look up the code. You should be able to find the paint code in the car; I think it's in the hood area, on the top of one of the wheel wells.

I've wondered what a security risk the VIN number was... I mean, it's visible for all the world to see. I suppose someone can pull up a carfax and find the owner's name, and then forge a letter to the dmv to sign over the title, and then .... oh, I see the problem

Plasti-kote sells. through their dealers, custom mixed paints in a 16 oz spray can. They have practically every color for every car. You will need to fiind out which auto parts store has their mixing system though, as they do not sell direct. In the N. Virginia area, they tell me it is CarQuest.
