i was in the mood to purchase an M3 however since it only comes as a coupe, i decided to go for a 330i sedan, its a good car however it lacks the extra punch the M3 has. I am thinking to install the an AC Schnitzer super charger which the dealer tells me will add 60 BHP. however i am double minded on what sort of impact this might have a on my cars engine. It provides a boost of 5PSI which the dealer tells me should not effect the engine that badly however i want a second opinion.
thanks.

Get the ESS supercharger. Your HP will increase to around 320HP. It's definetly worth it. No engine or transmission problems whatsoever so far. /forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Don't bother going for AC-Schnitzer unless you get a good deal. But if you going for all power, try ASA supercharge. It has an intercooler and higher psi than ESS

Marvel,
i am seriously considering the ACS supercharger (mainly because of reliability purpose). the weather here in my region is very hot(can get up to 125F).
do you think its a safe bet to go with this supercharger? (it doesnt come with an intercooler)
on the other hand hamann is offering a supercharger which comes with an intercooler and runs on higher psi produces 330HP.
which one do you think will be the safest bet?
thanks

Hi kashif,
If I were you I would go with the Hamann one. As far as I know this is in fact the ASA Turbomex System with intercooler wich almost all German tuners use. An Intercooler is very advisable, if you like U can fit spray on watersystem on the intercooler to decrease temperatures of the air even further when U are pushing quite hard.
As far as AC-Schnitzer... DON'T do it, U are paying half the money for the name, plus the supercharger is very noise compared to others (not in a cool way, very annoying). U could check thes pages if U like:
www.a-s-a.de
www.as-setups.com
www.kelleners-sport.com
www.g-power.de
You could testdrive mine if you like, only a bit far away..

thanks for the reply,
i have decided to go the NA route instead of FI, first reason is my cars a step and a supercharger will not give me more than 300hp on a step any way.
my current NA mods include. Gruppem cai, superchip, ACS exhaust. I intent to install headers, sports cats + throttole body. which should get me near 270hp atleast. hence the extra money for just 20-30 hp is not worth it for me. I will rather save up for the upcoming M4.
checked with hamman when i was doing my research for the SC, they said there software only works for a manual, hence i dropped the idea some time back.
thanks for the reply anyways
