I have a 2002 330 ci convertible, and I am going to install XM radio. Thanks to the great step by step on this site, I have decided to buy a Blitzsafe adapter and install everything myself.

Has anyone used a Blitzsafe adapter to install a Delphi SkiFi XM unit? If so, which adapter should I buy, and were there any tricks (besides the logistical problems of placing the antenna on a convertible)?

In general when using the Blitzsafe adapter, do the BMW controls to change the mode of the receiver seemlessly enable the XM input?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The big problem with the ski-fi is that it runs into your car through an FM modulator. The sound quality between running the XM directly into the headunit (as in the case of the Pioneer/Blitzsafe setup) is night and day. Basically, the FM modulator setup sounds like crap, the pure method sounds CD quality. Go for the Pioneer and Blitzsafe, the ski-fi can't direct inject the signal. By the way, I was skeptical of XM, but I decided to try it since everyone was raving about it. It is awesome, much better than I expected...Great mod...
