My parents are finally letting me sell their station wagon since I am the only one who drives it. I am going to get a 2000 323ci. I know that has way less hp and much worse acceleration than an '02 330i but with the money from selling their car and the money I have saved that is all I can get. Still a f***** beautiful car espeically for a 16yr old.

Any way my question is, do you actually feel the difference in 8-10 hp increases/do they make much of a difference? (such as through adding a cold air intake, or exhaust or a chip) I would be doing all of those mods anyway but I'm just curious.

Also I saw the ZEX nitrous system in the BavAutosports catalog is that a reasonable way to add power or is it not really usable if you aren't drag racing?

nitrous isnt very necessary if you are not drag racing. Though it is very fun getting that instant burst of speed, its probably not very cost effective if your not doing some sort of serious racing.
As far as mods go, yes you can usually feel the difference with most mods. but the best is once youve done 2,3 or 4 good power mods to the car, then you can really start to notice the difference over stock.
but of course if you want insane power noticeability go with forced induction of some kind.

Yeah,

I agree, you definately want to stay away from the nitrous, you might want to look into a chip, intake and maybe an exhaust just to make the driveablity a little more fun.

The 323/325 is actually a quick little car...

I had a 2000 323i w/ sport pack and loved it.
The extra power in the 330i is noticable, but you won't be
dissapointed in the 323i. You are 16 and should be cautious w/
your speed. I would look more at suspension mods.
Best of luck w/ the car!

Drove my cousins 323 e46 this weekend. It handles great but noticed a huge difference in torque and power. She also had an auto/step.
