I'm considering installing a supercharger and up to now, i'm considering between ESS and ASA GmbH Kompressor.

ASA SC is cheaper - 5,200 usd and includes an intercooler. However, no english instructions.

Anyone has opinion/advice abt intercooler? Is it necessary to have one with a SC especially i'm driving in environment that is abt 85-90 F. Anyone has experience with ASA SC?

For those interested, here is a google translation (http://216.239.37.120/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://www.a-s-a.de/produkte/Kompressorkits/Typenbl%25E4tter%2520E46/TB%2520E46.htm&prev=/search%3Fq%3DASA%2BGmbH%2BKompressor%26hl%3Den%26s afe%3Doff) of ASA's webpage on this. Also, the original, in German (http://www.a-s-a.de/). Thanks for the find - the more options, the better!

Actually, there's another company in germany that does supercharging.

check out the EVO 1 compressor kit for 330i - 420Nm!!

But i guess power/torque is not the most important factor in selecting a supercharger - reliability is equally important.

Do you need a intercooler w/ the supercharger?

Anytime you force induct an engine, an intercooler can help. Basically, thermal load occurs even when the engine is not under boost on a hot day. Any form of cooling, thereby making denser, the intake air temperature, the engine runs better.

With the ESS kit, for example, since boost is only set to max out at 7psi, an aftercooler is not really necessary. However, I plan on finding some way of cooling the intake since I live in the desert.

Hi Marvel,

when will your ESS installation article be ready? Hope to see it soon.

Last I heard, the kit is in production. When I get it, I will post the installation page as soon as possible. I am also prepared to make two videos as well.

I am as anxious as all of you and look forward to it's arrival.

I'd suggest looking at an
Aquamist 2c setup for your cooling. I've installed 2 kits recently on Dinan SC'd e36s...

Yes, cooling it will help battle heatsoak and provide more consistent and reliable power /forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

If you live in so-cal, try RMS for your supercharger
