supercharged

The supercharger seems very interesting. at the price of 6 grands. The power gain seems so great, does anyone know how many second(s) this system will push the 0-60 forward?

Also, the stock transmission will take on the 100hp gain without a problem? Am I more likely to break something if I floor the gas with it? I am wondering because 330 is a 330, it is not a M3. I imagine its trans is probably designed to handle the stock engine. Or maybe I am just not correct?

By the way, I am writing from Thailand, the 330 offered here only has one trans option, 5 speed EH automatic transmission with Shift/Interlock and steptronic. Is this the same as what BMW offers in NorthAmerica?

Please help on the above, and I think my first mod will be the ESS. However, importing that thing into my country and installing it is going to give me a headache.

Thanks
Chin
PS. by the way, a M3 costs $175000 here because of all the import and luxuary tax.

Wow, $175000?!?!?! DAMN!

You gotta remember that torque is what makes power. The tranny should handle the 75-80lb/ft of torque increase. It might not handle like 200 more, but you should be fine.

ESS's quoting 0-60 times of 5.0 seconds for the 330 manual and 5.6 for the auto with their 7psi V2SQ kit. Check out their new webpage - much better than before.

You americans are so lucky.

That is a bout how much they cost in Australia.

My ESS supercharger is going on a 2002 320ci.

The 320ci cost $50000 second hand.

A 330ci costs $116 000 here.

These are australian dollars prices which is currently 0.75 US.

yeh, ur right, jvrkic! its bloody expensive here in australia, compared to the USA. they can pick up a fully loaded 330Ci for under $60,000 AUD.

I installed the Active Autowerkes SC in my 2001 300i. It was a little tricky and took a lot more time than the 12=13 hours they estimate.
However, the power gains are quite impressive. I believe AA estimates 0-60 somewhere around 5.2 secs. My car is a 5 speed auot-steptronic and I have had no problem at all. I just drove 2500 miles from NJ to Arizona and it was quite a kick on the open road.
One thing I learned doing the install...make sure your DME sw is at the latest level from BMW BEFORE doing the install. I have an occasional bouncing idle and stalling problem. AA NOW tells me I need to go the BMW dealer and get my DME modded to the latest version for my car. Why they didn't tell me this before hand is a mystery. This is a pain, since I then have to send the DME back to AA again after BMW re-flashes it. If you do the install yourself, let me know as there are other things I learned which are not covered in the documentation.
