Thanks, I will ask my dealer.
P.S. I have also heard of water pumps going as soon as 50k... just FYI.
My fuel pump makes a pretty loud buzzing. The dealer (BMW of SF) said "you should hear how loud they are on Chevys". I told him that I neither bought a chevy or cared how loud they are. I bought a BMW and expect a certain level of quality and service. Was I too harsh and does anyone have the same noisy pump problem?

Water pump FYI - when you get it replaced, make sure it's the upgraded metal version from south africa ($50 at bavauto), not the german plastic version (supposedly plastic so that it complies with some sort of environmental law, but I don't know for sure)
