View Full Version : Dinan vs. Supersprint

I'm looking into getting the same stuff as that guy in the other "Dinan" post. However, I looked on the Dinan site, and I found that they do not sell headers. So I am thinking of buying Supersprint headers, and maybe a Resnator. Will this interfere with the Dinan exhaust (it might be too long, or might not be compatable)? What did you guys use one your intake/exhaust systems?

First off, headers will eliminate your catalytic converters and you won't pass emissions. If you are building a race car, then go for it. But even the SS headers only have attachment points for 1 set of O2 sensors, while our 330i have 2 sets. There might be a DME error kicked by ignoring the other set.

The 2 resonators are just that, resonators... they only change the sound of the exhaust. I happen to love the stock sound on the 330i. The only reason I am even considering changing it is because of my sponsor.

So what was the outcome?What kind of system did you choose and why? and was it a pain in the ass?

I chose the UUC Twin Silencer Exhaust and it is just wonderful. A simple install and plenty of reward.

What kind of HP gain did you get form the UUC exhaust? Is the sound a lot louder than stock?
To be honest, are cops looking at you more since they can hear it now?

The power increase could be in my head, but it *feels* like there is more mid-high end juice. Just a bit of a kick.

The sound is definitely louder, but very refined. I pulled up next to a cop the other day with my stereo going and launched around a left turn. No response, so it can't be that bad. It is DEFINITELY not a tinny columbian coffee-can rice burner squeal.

Did you install the resonator replacment section of the twin silencer kit or just the back portion? Also, how much did you pay for it?

I replaced the 2nd resonator.

I got the exhaust through UUC as a sponsored vehicle, hence I got a discount.
