well, we have about one week before they start building our car. we have been thinking about adding the GPS to it. my question is this.... is it worth it? we don't really take any trips so i am wondering if the other "features" of the Nav. System make it worthwhile if you don't really "use" the Nav. System all that much. the Lexus LS430 had some nice things with it - the onboard computer, stereo controls, and such. don't know much about the BMW system.
opinions?

I have it and love it. It looks great also.
The GPS maps used by BMW are based on CDROMs. A better technology is one based on DVDs which allows much more maps and other data to be stored on a disk. I belive tha MB uses this.

Just a quick reply. I am pretty sure that it is too late for your purchase however, I hope that you chose to have the GPS installed.
I have the GPS and it has assisted me countless times when going to new client locations, I am an auditor, and when needing to avoid a traffic jam. I think the $1800 is well worth it, but then again I had the cell phone w/ voice activation installed as well. So, that said, I think the entire package cell phone w/ GPS is a great package.
