I currently have a 330i with the Myrtle Wood interior. Since the exterior of my car is Titanium Silver, I'm thinking of replacing the Myrtle Wood with the Aluminum. Does anyone have any comments on the Aluminum? I saw some used cars with the Aluminum trim at a dealership and almost all of them had scuffs and scratches!

I have the aluminum trim and have no scratches or scuffs, just lots of fingerprints! I think it is great on a silver car...

Interesting how tastes vary. I recently pick up my 330xi in Munich. Since I did not order Myrtle, it came with aluminum. Since I really wanted wood (but not myrtle) I was offered 4 other wood grain finishes, one of which I took. Since I dont drink in my car I was able to buy for $12 a tray that takes the place of the cup holders. There were a great many options available that we never see.

we just ordered our 2002 330i from Desert BMW here in las vegas. we got the Sport Package and Premium Packages... the Premium came with the Myrtle Wood... the dealer told us there was NO WAY to have the aluminum trim done to the interior. the only option we had was an aftermarket "sticker" that we could put over the top of the myrtle wood... sounded really silly to me, but that is what he said.
i would LOVE the aluminum on the inside. we also ordered the Titanium Silver with the grey interior, so the metal trim instead of the cheesy wood trim would really set it off.

I have wood trim in my 330 and I hate it. I don't think it goes well with my grey leather. I'm replacing it with a black trim; I thought the contrast with grey and black would look really good. Anyway, if you need an idea of what it looks like, the new M3 comes standard with it.
i have a black on black 330i with the wood trim and i think it really makes the car look classy and tasteful. IMHO the aluminum trim look like it should be in a lexus is or honda.

I have wood trim and love it. I think it looks so much better than the painted plastic. It makes the car look like a $40,000 car, which it was. /forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif
Hi, I've just discovered this site..it's cool. I'm an Aussie with a 2001 325i. It's Titanium Silver with the Aluminium Trim and Tannin Leather(Oxblood red) Sunroof 17" 44's. The Aluminium really sets off the interior. I've just put on the aluminium pedals too.
