Check with UUC regarding the noise. I read not too long ago about some sort of 'noise reduction kit' in the works. I believe they are supplying it for free.

Actually, I believe the noise fix is part of the Evo II shifter, but I found some things I needed to fix, so it wasn't UUC's fault.
